(Journalist Wang Yujun) The Organizer for China’s Guest of Honour events launched its Official Website in both Chinese and English versions on June 9, 2009 to release important information on those events.
Held each October in Frankfurt, Germany, the 5-day fair is the largest of its kind in the world, and also the most important international platform for book trade information and intellectual property deals. Even since 1998, each annual fair would invite a country or region as its Guest of Honour.
China is the Guest of Honour for the 2009 fair. It will send its largest ever delegation of book exhibitors, and on the strength of this platform, expand the copyright trade, promote international exchanges and cooperation, and fully exhibit the achievements of its publishing industry since the P.R.C was founded 60 years ago, especially in the past 30 years of reform and opening up, as well as its political, economic, social and cultural changes.
The Official Website for the Guest of Honour events is built and operated by China Press and Publication Net (www.chinaxwcb.com). The website design uses the artistic elements of Chinese traditional ink-and-wash landscape painting and features the distinctive Chinese red. It includes such columns as Bulletin Board, News Broadcast, Major Events, Photo News, Videos, Publishing Events, Exhibition Hall, China in the Eyes of Foreign Reporters and Cultural Performances & Art Exhibitions, providing texts, images, audios and videos available in both Chinese and English. During the fair, the website will broadcast live the opening and closing ceremonies of China’s Guest of Honour events, performances, the handover ceremony for Guest of Honour, high-end forums, symposiums, events of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan exhibitors, and so on.
